What is documentary style photography?
I help your guests loosen up, celebrate, and feel at ease in front of the camera. Great documentary photography is honest, candid, and full of life. That’s the energy I bring to your big day.
Documentary is about the story. It’s your sisters’ laugh as whiskey pours out her nose. It’s your grandfather busting a move on the dance floor with your five year old niece. It’s photographing all those little details you put so much time and care into making for your guests. It’s about remembering those moments between walking down the aisle and walking back up that blurred into a feeling in your memories.
Documentary photography is about telling the story of your day first, and taking pretty photos second.

he knew how to move around everyone,
and shot photos that we didn't even notice him
making until we got the album. As a photographer, I knew
I'd be incredibly picky about who shot our wedding.

started working with Geoffrey.

Don’t worry, we’ll do that too. What we will not do is spend three hours in the midsummer heat taking pictures in every possible pose and position while we drag five to fifteen of your closest friends along to watch.
We are, instead, going to make the most of a couple of select moments on your wedding day—fifteen to thirty minutes, and then let you be on your merry way to spend the rest of your day with your family, your friends, your guests; the reason you are there at your wedding . Your wedding day shouldn’t be about the photography, it should be about the people and community who came together to celebrate your love, I'm just there so you can enjoy those memories forever after.

How I approach your wedding.
Your wedding day is a narrative, from preparation, to first looks, to the ceremony and the celebration. I take a storyteller’s approach, framing each moment as part of a greater whole—a story you’ll want to revisit again and again. It’s about capturing each of those details.
Weddings are an occasion for friends and family to come together on your big day, for first introductions and for long-overdue reunions. Sparks are bound to fly. I capture the funny, the tender, the need-to-see-it-to-believe it. And I capture all the little details you planned out to make the day special for everyone, too.
